I had that to start and I was learning to be satisfied with it - and then some lovely anonymous benefactors gifted me with a paid account last year. (there are some amazing, generous people in this fandom and in this LJ pocket of fandom, truly). And oh my gosh are icons addictive - ESPECIALLY with so many amazing artists to choose from. I'd love to add the work of a few more folks to my gallery.
I think I generally prefer icons with no text.
Oddly enough I've come to prefer it that way too - and the more effects I can do and the better I get, the less I feel a need or desire to put text into icons, except for very specific effect.
