but I left it for Photobucket when I realized that with time all the pics I had uploaded as .png were saved as lower quality jpegs. Not cool!!
OUCH.
The other day I had the opposite problem - I was going to submit some icons to Slayerstillness that I really love for the current challenge, and only while I was trying to submit did I discover that some of them were pngs and apparently SS can only accept jpgs? And I had no idea they were the wrong format to begin with? URGH. Frustration.
And my sweetie is a painter/sculptor; she got her BFA in sculpture but it's too costly to do bronzes so she mostly paints since she graduated (oils, acrylics, encaustic; monotypes, etc). She taught herself to do all her own photography of her work since it was ridiculously expensive to hire someone to do it, but the school didn't offer much help. http://judyholder.blogspot.com
Now Photoshop is, as you said, you can't buy the full suite outright, so she can't exactly replace what she had before the fire.
I keep finding out grammar errors/horrors and I keep having to edit the comment.
And I'll bet I would have rolled right past them and never noticed!

BTW, the Worn effect is lovely!
Right? I played around with it and the 'stars' effect a little last night:
