I'm thinking of trying to write a fic based around "Ted". If you know of any other meta etc around that ep I'd be interested in reading it.

The only other things I've seen is a mini-meta about Ted by

There's a more academic article on Giles and Joyce and problematic parenting that mentions the episode that I can't find at the moment (from SlayAlive, one of those academic studies sites); but I'll summarize - basically the author interprets Ted Buchanan as a critique of the neo-conservative moment of the 1980's and 1990's (i.e. Patrick Buchanan et al) but also there's a critique of liberal parents who used drugs in their youth and are selfish and sensual (Joyce licking her fingers from the cinnamon rolls) at the expense of their children's well being.
And that's really been it; I think it's one of those overlooked episodes ripe for exploration, I do have notes for another possible meta because there is a visual connection between Hank in Nightmares and Ted esp in the miniature golf scene; and also a link to Riley in the theme of the "salesman". Buffy and Joyce it turns out have rather similar taste in men.
