I don't know about a whole community but it was fun to re enter an icon you made and didn't get any kudos. I don't know about you but a lot of the time an icon I thought was nifty no one else liked.

I also think it would be fun to have a challenge where you could re enter only icons that won. Just to see if they held up to the the test of time.
