I've finally noticed that the icon contests in general I participate in are decided by a very small number of voters (despite the size of the fandom and number of people on LJ, etc) so I like to encourage participation and not be "clique-ish". OTOH there's something to be said for the small but discerning and discriminating audience....

Right? There has to be a corner of V X/W shippers somewhere in fandom. I don't get why not. When he throws the matches to his mate and says "I like to watch" - YO, that teensy little hetero part of me I'd forgot existed swooned.
