RL getting in the way or muse has up and left you temporarily? (Or beta-abandonment, which is pretty serious too.) Or just bored with the story? (I get bored with a story I'm writing the minute I know how it's going to end, as if my brain mentally closed the cover and walked away.)
And good fic, cracktastic or otherwise, is always such a pleasant distraction. :)
