The best of the Buffy novels was one where Giles, as a vampire, became the most dangerous enemy Buffy had ever faced. I think it was published as four books, but I bought the omnibus version. There were a lot of character deaths in that one, but sadly no Tara.

I have in mind a Buffyverse series where Tara plays the big bad though :-)
